- Cleveland Browns – Myles Garrett – DE – Texas A&M
- No change here, still a no brainer
- San Francisco 49ers – Solomon Thomas – DE – Stanford
- Lots of talk about the RB position, even a QB being selected in this spot. But I hold firm to the idea that Thomas is still the next best pass rusher in the draft, and a homegrown guy for the fans to latch onto.
- Chicago Bears – Marshon Lattimore – CB – Ohio St
- Jonathan Allen is a possibility here, and I am falling in love with Jamal Adams being a top 3 pick, but you still can not pass on a potential shutdown corner.
- Jacksonville Jaguars – Leonard Fournette – RB – LSU
- No change here either as the Coughlin regime 2.0 gets back to basics. With many defensive free agent signings, and the injury issues of their current running back situation, the Fournette pick makes the Jags a significantly more dynamic offense....assuming Bortles rights the ship.
- Tennessee Titans – Jamal Adams – S – LSU
- No change here as well, as the Titans are still my wildcard pick. The draft could turn in so many directions with their choice. Although the Titans have needs on offense to progress the maturation of Mariota, they have strong secondary needs and Adams is arguably the best defensive back in the draft.
- New York Jets – Mitch Trubisky – QB – North Carolina
- The Jets give in to temptation. I don't even think Trubisky is the best QB in the draft, but the Jets are a mess. They have seemingly given up already on previous 4th and 2nd round picks in prior drafts, respectively.
- Los Angeles Chargers – Malik Hooker – S – Ohio St
- Secondary help, Secondary help, Secondary help!! Philip Rivers could use some protection from the offensive line, but it may also help him to not have to put up 28 points every game to get a victory. The Chargers take the 2nd best secondary player in the draft.
- Carolina Panthers – Jonathan Allen - DT – Alabama
- I still see the Panthers going a number of directions here, but Dalvin Cook's stock is slipping greatly and Allen is the best player on the board.
- Cincinnati Bengals – Cam Robinson – OT – Alabama
- Maybe the worst offseason of any team in the NFL, they need to solidify the offensive line after losing Whitworth. This helps the run game, and protects Andy Dalton.
- Buffalo Bills – Deshaun Watson – QB – Clemson
- The first major shakeup comes when Buffalo takes arguably the last remaining 1st round QB talent in this draft. I could see this being a spot for a big trade as Trubisky will likely be gone by this pick and Cleveland is getting anxious to finally get a QB. Look for Houston to make a play for this pick.
- New Orleans Saints – Reuben Foster – LB - Alabama
- Foster is a top 5 talent with some red flags. But based on reports from scouts, he might actually have an argument for the diluted sample which caused him to fail a drug test at the combine. Foster slips, but New Orleans finds him to good to pass on.
- Cleveland Browns – Marlon Humphrey – CB – Alabama
- Cleveland was hoping for a QB, but taking one of the available QBs at this point is too high. Cleveland could possibly trade down here, or as in this case, take a player at a position they have a need for
- Arizona Cardinals – Mike Williams – WR – Clemson
- If Foster falls, he doesn't get past this pick. But in this case, Foster is gone, and Arizona has a hole to fill that is opening rapidly with the release of Michael Floyd last season and the pending retirement of Larry Fitzgerald. Williams is similar to and can learn from the HOF receiver.
- Philadelphia Eagles – Derek Barnett – DE – Tennessee
- The Eagles simply take the best past rusher available in the draft.
- Indianapolis Colts – Taco Charlton – DE – Michigan
- The defensive end from Michigan looks like a perfect fit for this defensive bunch. He reminds me of a taller Robert Mathis. The Colts primary focus should be on protecting Andrew Luck, but the offensive line depth in this draft is much to be desired.
- Baltimore Ravens – Takkarist McKinley – OLB – UCLA
- McKinley's stock has seemingly platued at this point, but that is good for the Ravens. They get an edge rusher who fits the mold of a 3-4 OLB perfectly. He has skills that need to be developed but with good coaching, can be a pro bowler in 2-3 years.
- Washington Redskins – Christian McCaffrey – RB – Stanford
- The Redskins have a need at RB and McCaffrey is a good fit for a team with a well designed offensive line and scheme. Gruden will love giving this guy 15-20 touches a game.
- Tennessee Titans – OJ Howard – TE – Alabama
- Defense was the first choice. Now it is time to give Mariota that dynamic player they have been lacking on the outside. Howard is the pick even though Delanie Walker is a productive player at the same position. This just gives Mariota another weapon on the other side of the field
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Dalvin Cook – RB – Florida St
- OJ Howard would be the pick here if he was still available, but Jameis gets a friendly face in the backfield. Something the Buccaneers covet.
- Denver Broncos – Ryan Ramczyk – OT – Wisconsin - Stanford
- The QB position may or may not be solidified in Denver. But it doesn't matter who the QB is if he doesn't start to get some better protection.
- Detroit Lions – Haasan Reddick – LB – Temple
- The offense has fire power. The defense gets maybe the best cover LB in the draft and any kind of added defense is good against the likes of Aaron Rodgers
- Miami Dolphins – Forrest Lamp – OG – Western Kentucky
- No change here, Adam Gase and ownership need to do everything they can to protect their investment. After spending heavily to bolster the defense last year and seeming to have some offensive firepower in the form of skill positions, its best to get some offensive line help. Forrest Lamp, in my opinion, was the most impressive offensive lineman during pre draft workouts.
- New York Giants – Garett Bolles – OT - Utah
- No change here, the left tackle position last year was a disaster. Flowers is much more suited on the right side of the line. The Giants continue to try to build from the inside to protect their aging quarterback.
- Oakland Raiders – Jarrad Davis – LB – Florida
- The Raiders had a great year minus the fact that their season ended once Derek Carr's season ended due to injury. Davis is a prototypical MLB that is a borderline 1st round talent. But the Raiders have a need for a smart and effective leader in the middle.
- Houston Texans – Jabril Peppers – DB – Michigan
- The most glaring need of any team during the offseason was even brighter once Tony Romo retired, leaving the Texans to pick up the pieces. The Texans could reach here and take Pat Mahomes, but I think at this point, they take the best "football player" in the draft.
- Seattle Seahawks – Obi Melifonwu – DB – UConn
- My favorite player in the draft, he is a freak and the Seahawks are the type of team and in the position to take a player like this and make that player fit in their scheme.
- Kansas City Chiefs – Malik McDowell – DT – Michigan St
- No change here, there are many possibilities with this pick, including linebacker, but I think the Chiefs fill the void left by Dontari Poe and take the best available inside lineman.
- Dallas Cowboys – TJ Watt – DE/OLB - Wiscon
- No change here, similarly to the previous pick, the Cowboys can go a number of directions here. Jabril Peppers could be a wildcard pick here, but the truth is, the Cowboys have taken flyers on players the last couple of years. Watt is the pass rusher they need, with a motor like Sean Lee.
- Green Bay Packers – Gareon Conley – CB – Ohio St
- No change here, remember pick number seven? The same thing applies here, probably more so. Conley is moving up boards as a heady player who can fit in many schemes. As safe a pick in this draft outside of number 1 overall.
- Pittsburgh Steelers – Corey Davis – WR – Western Michigan
- I could easily see the Steelers take a QB here, with the mental rumblings of retirement from Big Ben. Davis is a route running machine, not so much of a vertical threat, but could learn even from the other side in Antonio Brown
- Atlanta Falcons – Charles Harris – DE – Missouri
- No change here, after playing in a Superbowl, it is hard to find any weaknesses on a team. The Falcons take advantage of a defensive line heavy draft and take the best player available on the board at that position.
- New Orleans Saints – John Ross – WR – Washington
- Brandin Cooks was traded to New England, this fills that void. They improved their defense earlier, now it is time for Brees to get reloaded
